Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your device's IP address
- Operating system and device category
- Browser name and version
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring site, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies help us understand aggregate use, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and correcting technical failures
- Operating the website and maintaining reasonable load times
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Measuring which resources are useful and which need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site explains how to reach the Dallam County sheriff and shared jail, the courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety repository, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas Government Code Chapter 411 controls dissemination of state criminal-history information, while the Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 governs public access to government records. Neither law makes this private site a record custodian. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not used to build consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search tools shown on the site. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted to those tools. We do not set those practices, so review the provider's terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Dallam County offices, Texas agencies, court portals, legal-aid resources, or commercial search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read those rules before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
- Search partners processing a query you submit
- Advertising networks serving ads on the pages
- Government or law enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet service can guarantee complete security, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights based on where you live. Texas Government Code Chapters 411 and 552 address government-held criminal-history and public records, not a general right to obtain private visitor data from this site. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of information associated with you
- Ask for access to information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Object to certain processing activities
